Spirometry is the most common of the lung function tests. This test shows how well you breathe in and out, or how well your lungs work. Breathing can be affected by lung diseases such as: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pulmonary fibrosis and cystic fibrosis.
Exercise oximetry is used to check the oxygen levels of your blood at rest and as you exert yourself. The test is done evaluate if oxygen therapy is needed for certain activities.
Overnight home oximetry is a test to monitor and record the level of oxygen in your blood as you sleep. IT provides basic information that may be useful in initially evaluating whether you have adequate respiratory function at night.
UNATTENDED HOME SLEEP STUDY
A sleep study is a non-invasive, overnight exam that allows the doctors to monitor you while you sleep to see what is happening with your body. For this test, you will receive a monitoring device you wear at home and the data recorded is interpreted by the physician.
